Full time Business Development Executive Management Sales

Job Description

Job description

Stable is a venture-backed fintech company with B2B operations across North America, as well as Europe and Bermuda.

We've reimagined commodity price risk management for agrifood businesses by making it simple and effective for our clients to manage volatile agricultural commodities. Put simply, we provide our clients the financial stability needed to invest in the future with confidence.

We're a diverse and talented team of +40 people who are making big things happen as we continue to use technology and innovation to delight our clients and grow our business. We're focused on the $5trn food and agricultural sector, with core segments including meat & livestock, poultry & eggs, dairy and niche grains.

Our team is at the heart of everything we do. We invest in your success and you own it, all while working alongside a team that is small enough for your work to be recognised, but big enough to make them a reality.

We're now looking for a Commodity Sales Director to further expand our operations across the North American market.

Any candidate must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain or Commodity Price Risk Management and a proven track record in sales. (Please do not apply without this level of experience)

We work closely with procurement divisions of agrifood companies to offer OTC options that help manage volatile commodity prices in over 4,000 markets. A typical client is a $500m-$1bn T/O food manufacturer that is exposed to rising commodity costs.

We specialise in untraded commodities that our clients have never been able to hedge before. A deep understanding of commodity sourcing & supply chains is fundamental to our client-centric business.

You'll need to be a highly motivated self starter as you'll work remotely at home when not in our offices, or visiting clients.

Market Opportunity

Less than 10% of agricultural commodities are traded on a liquid exchange, making it hard to accurately protect your business from price risk. The Stable platform hosts a wide range of commodity indexes which can be used to insure a business from volatility with minimum basis risk. We also bring the liquidity required from our global reinsurance partners

The current team is made up of a diverse and talented crew of agricultural economists, data scientists, developers, commodity analysts and sales. They've joined us from the likes of Louis Dreyfus, ADM, Cargill, EDF&Man and Rabobank etc.

You'll be working with a wide range of corporate clients such as processors, food manufacturers and large farming businesses who are looking to protect their business from volatile raw material costs, as well as interacting with major distributors such as banks and insurers.

The successful candidates would have a varied and interesting role right at the heart of a fast growth company that's been backed by some of the world's leading investors.

In return we can offer a competitive salary, flexible working hours + uncapped commission. You'll be working in a young, dynamic and talented commodity team building something very special and as such we also operate a share option pool.

About You

We're looking for experienced team players that can build strong relationships with senior decision makers at a wide range of businesses. You will need to show you can use your own initiative and thrive on delivering results. Key parts of the role include:

  1. Research, identify and close new sales opportunities
  2. Build strategic relationships with new customers and industry partners
  3. Maintain excellent relationships with existing customers
  4. Facilitate communication with the back office teams in London and Chicago
  5. Attending and speaking at industry events

The candidate will have:

  • A background deeply rooted in agricultural commodity procurement, supply chains or price risk management
  • Strong industry contacts and relationships
  • Strong social skills. Relationships are key in this industry.
  • Team Player. Our 'no dicks' policy is non negotiable! We're a small and fast growing team so this really matters
  • Financially literate. We are primarily working with CFO's, treasury and procurement departments
  • IT fluency. We're a technology company first and foremost
  • The ability to handle pressure and hit targets. We're building a global business so you need to be up for making big things happen

It's a world class team, backed by significant venture capital and making a real impact in a $5tn industry. With uncapped commissions and a uniquely defensible product, this is a great opportunity for the right candidate who is looking for a new challenge.
