What You’ll Be Doing…
Reporting to the UK Country Manager, you will primarily be responsible for building a sales funnel and converting leads, for our cross-border payments product.
You will leverage your strong existing network, while building new relationships from scratch, with financial firms across the UK and EEA.
You will rapidly foster strong relationships with stakeholders up to C-suite level at banks, fintechs, and other firms.
You will be responsible for, sourcing and qualifying leads, tailoring solutions, negotiating pricing, drafting term sheets and contracts, facilitating a smooth go-live, ensuring partner achieves target forecast, and supporting clients in Europe over the course of the relationship with additional services.
You will also contribute to cross-functional projects, coordinating with our Network, Compliance, Legal, Product and other teams where business development or your clients’ needs are key drivers of decision-making across the organisation.
On an ad-hoc basis, you’ll contribute to EMQ’s success in other areas as required.
What We're Looking For…
5+ years of Business Development experience with a strong focus on sales.
7+ years professional experience, with prior fintech, banking or payments experience a bonus.
A passion for fintech and an awareness of industry trends in Europe and elsewhere.
Confidence, approachability, and with a high degree of organisation.
Excellent interpersonal skills and an innate ability to foster strong relationships and build trust with clients, prospects, and colleagues – we are a close-knit team and depend heavily on one another.
Strong business acumen and a solid history of delivering quantifiable results in a sales environment.
Ability to deliver to tight deadlines in a lean and evolving start-up environment.
Experience in managing simultaneous, complex projects, requiring a high level of attention to detail and strong analytical, data and problem-solving skills.
Comfort digging into data to tell a story, extract insights, and inform decisions.
2:1 or equivalent undergraduate degree - or a compelling story of entrepreneurship.
Willingness to travel internationally to our offices, to clients, or to trade shows, etc.
Fluent in English, and ideally fluent in another European language.
Proficient with productivity suite (e.g., Google & MS) and Salesforce.
