About the role:

Are you a Business Intelligence Developer who is looking to work at a leading FTSE 250 fintech? We are looking for someone who will enjoy working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, developing BI solutions that drive operational efficiency, unlocks business growth, and keeps us ahead of the regulatory curve.

You will join our team of Business Analysts and Developers innovating across the BI technology stack, including data warehouse, ETL, and reporting/self-service tools. We are focused on the Groups’ equity and derivative trading platforms, and work closely with other product development teams using agile methodology.

The role is an ideal fit for an individual with a strong emphasis on development collaboration in equal measure to Oracle, ETL, and data modelling skills.

What you will be working on:

  • Analyse the challenges we are trying to solve, engage with stakeholders, and gain an understanding of CMC’s business applications and trading platforms
  • Develop Business Intelligence solutions, this includes data warehouse, ETL, self-service reporting, and back office(statements and regulatory requirements)
  • Utilise enterprise job scheduling, data controls, monitoring, and alerting
  • Build product delivery pipelines and maintain source control
  • Plan using Agile methodology, break requirements into stories and tasks, and provide estimates
  • Contribute to BI Wiki documentation, run knowledge transfer sessions, and provide sprint show cases
  • Ownership of Dev and controlled environments including NFR, UAT, and Production, using ITSM best practice

Who are we looking for:

  • Strong experience as a developer, and with skills for the things that sit outside core programming, to make different technologies work together
  • You are not afraid of failure; you keep going and learn, determined to find the answer. You thrive in a continuous learning environment
  • Challenge convention at all appropriate opportunities, identify and propose improvements and ensure that nobody ‘just does what they always did’
  • Experience in Financial Services, Stockbroking (Shares), Derivative/CFD products, is desirable
  • Push for excellence in our data quality principles of availability, usability, reliability, and relevance
  • Tech stack: Oracle Database, PL/SQL, OBIEE/OAS, ThoughtSpot, Excel, SOS Berlin JobScheduler, Linuxshell, SOAP and RESTful API services, Oracle APEX, GitLab, Nagios, Splunk, Jira, Confluence
