We are currently looking for a Risk Management Officer (SCA - UAE based) to join our global team and work closely with our UAE Head.

Responsible for evaluating and mitigating risks which may arise before the Company when carrying out the financial activities.

The Risk Management Officer shall perform the tasks of specifying and evaluating potential risks as for the Company that may arise out of the operational factors therein. Moreover, this role shall make suitable decisions for handling the named risks if they arise along with observing them, reporting thereon, working to avoid them, and reviewing and updating the risks management guide according to the financial activity of the Company, its purposes and risks.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Own and conduct regular review of local risk documents including risk management framework, risk appetite statement and other risk related policies and documentation
  • Day to day monitoring, reporting and management of entity risks as per the risk management framework (e.g. credit risk, liquidity risk, capital adequacy risk, operational risk etc.)
  • Work alongside group stakeholders in the 2nd line risk and compliance teams and 3rd line audit team to ensure adequate controls, risk mitigation and best practices
  • Design & implement KRIs and risk MI for local management
  • Oversight, monitoring and reporting of adherence to local regulatory capital and liquidity requirements
  • Risk SME regarding regulatory submissions and risk data/information requests
  • Operational risk events monitoring, escalation and reporting
  • Work with Group risk team to conduct RCSAs and embed risk management culture and awareness by building relationships with key stakeholders across the business and delivering local risk training where required
  • Monitoring of regulatory risk change/current and emerging risks for any entity level impact
  • Project work and ad hoc risk analysis as required
  • Build partnerships with key stakeholders including trading team, legal and finance

The ideal individual may have the below qualifications:

  • A university degree and at least (5) years of experience in financial markets or related fields; or
  • A diploma or less and at least (10) years of experience in the financial markets or related fields

Alternative Qualification and Experience:

At least (5) years of experience in financial markets or related fields, while holding any of the alternative qualifications described below:

  • Master Financial Risk Manager (FRM);
  • Master Financial Controller;
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA);
  • Chartered Development Finance Analyst;
  • Certified Management Accountant (CMA); or
  • ICA Specialist Certificate in Conduct Risk

Experience

  • 5 years minimum experience in financial markets or related fields
