Job Description

The role will be supporting the AML Regional Operations team and reporting to the AML/FCC Compliance Senior Manager. The incumbent will be involved in the day-to-day AML operations which mainly comprise of Customer Name Screening and Transaction Monitoring, which may also include other duties as assigned such Know-Your-Business (KYB) and periodic reviews.

The AML Regional Operations Manager is responsible for analysing and investigating AML alerts by applying business, regulatory and local country knowledge (where applicable) during the disposition of alerts.

In addition, you may be tasked with general regulatory compliance matters specific to the Malaysian market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and investigate name screening alerts and to ensure effective discharge of the screening requirements are in line with the internal Standard Operating Procedures “SOPs”. Familiarity with Refinitiv will be a plus.
  • Perform Transaction Monitoring alert adjudication as flagged by the in-house monitoring system. Typically, a case-level transactional investigation will be conducted holistically on a customer.
  • To facilitate the daily onboarding of new merchants by performing the necessary customer due diligence
  • To ensure timely escalation of all potential suspicious activities
  • Adherence to the internal SOPs by ensuring all internal documentation and supporting evidence used in the alert/cases adjudication process are adequately documented
  • To support the Malaysian Compliance Team on regulatory compliance matters

Other Responsibilities

  • Review internal SOPs which includes but not limited to streamlining of existing processes
  • Perform UAT to assist in system related enhancements.
  • To assist in ad-hoc AML/Compliance related projects which may include regulatory advice
  • To assist in any other ad-hoc tasks as assigned

Requirements

Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Finance, Banking, Business, IT or related courses
  • Between 4 and 6 years of experience in AML/CFT Compliance/Regulatory Compliance
  • Ability to perform under pressure and capable of working collaboratively with stakeholders
  • An independent and versatile individual with high level of initiative and follow-through skills
  • Possess strong attention to detail, research, analytical and investigation skills
  • Proficient in writing with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate ability to perform detailed analysis of data based on policy and work instructions

Preferred

  • AML Qualifications such as ICA Diploma in AML and/or ACAMS preferred
  • Familiar with the MAS PSN01 requirements and/or other international AML/CFT standards
  • Prior working experience in a Fintech/Payments company will be a plus
  • Basic knowledge of Python/SQL preferred
