Job Description

The PayRetailers' Risk Analytics department is fueled by a passion for continuous improvement and problem solving. We are looking for a talented Risk Data Analyst to join our team and develop best in class Risk Intelligence infrastructure that will create value for PayRetailers and its customers.

This role requires an understanding of fraud concepts and fluency with data, along with an ability to drive several projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, operations, finance, etc.) to influence and execute on Risk Management strategies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement, review, and adjust decisioning rules to reduce exposure to emerging fraud trends and maintain Risk KPIs at acceptable thresholds
  • Produce ad-hoc analytics reports by extracting and analyzing data from external and internal sources, to perform detailed analysis, identify patterns
  • Contribute to Risk Intelligence infrastructure by managing data and creating dashboards for efficient analytics and reporting
  • Partner with Product and IT stakeholders to validate, deploy and improve risk management systems
  • Provide support to PayRetailers' Risk Teams on existing tools, systems, data analytics and reporting matters
  • Develop and conduct risk assessments of PayRetailers payment methods and products

Must-have experience and knowledge:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience (e.g. fraud detection, managing transaction monitoring systems)
  • Proficiency with SQL for data retrieval and manipulation
  • Practical experience in statistical analysis of large complex datasets and converting them into information which drives business decisions, using tools like Power BI and Excel
  • Creative problem solving and critical thinking skills with a self-starter attitude
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in business English (C level reporting)

Nice to have experience and qualifications:

  • BS / BA or higher degree in a quantitative field (computer science, engineering, economics, etc.)
  • Practical experience with Python or R
  • Previous experience working in the Payments Industry, either at a PSP, Acquirer or Merchant perspective
  • Proficiency in Spanish
  • Proven success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
