Desired Skills and Experience
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 4 years in backend development, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or engineering management role, preferably in fintech or blockchain environments.
- Java Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience with Java and its ecosystem (e.g., Spring Boot, Hibernate) in high-performance, enterprise-grade systems.
- Crypto & Fintech Background: Proven track record in the cryptocurrency or digital asset space, with understanding of wallets, custody solutions, blockchain protocols (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum), transaction monitoring, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FATF Travel Rule, AML/KYC).
- Architectural Excellence: Strong grasp of RESTful APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native development (AWS preferred). Experience designing secure, scalable systems for high-throughput financial transactions.
- Leadership & Influence: Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams, mentor senior developers, and align technical execution with strategic business goals. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Problem-Solving Mindset: Exceptional analytical skills to navigate complex technical, security, and operational challenges — especially in regulated, high-stakes environments.
- Project & Delivery Management: Experience managing product cycles, resource planning, and delivery timelines in agile environments. Familiarity with Jira, Scrum, or Kanban is a plus.
- Regulatory Awareness: Solid understanding of financial compliance standards as applied to crypto — including data privacy (GDPR), cybersecurity, and transaction integrity.
- English Proficiency: Fluent written and spoken English — essential for collaboration in a global, fast-paced environment.
Your Main Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
Drive the architecture and development of secure, scalable backend systems powering crypto transaction processing, wallet services, and integration with blockchain networks.
Team Development
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of backend engineers. Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement grounded in engineering excellence.
Strategic Roadmap Ownership
Partner with CTO and product leadership to define the long-term technical vision for our crypto infrastructure — from on-chain interactions to off-ramp settlements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with product managers, security experts, compliance officers, and frontend teams to deliver seamless, regulated, and user-centric crypto experiences.
Security & Compliance Advocacy
Ensure all systems meet the highest standards for crypto security, auditability, and regulatory compliance. Champion best practices in key management, fraud detection, and transaction monitoring.
Engineering Excellence
Champion CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, observability, and DevOps practices to ensure fast, reliable, and safe deployments.
Delivery & Stakeholder Alignment
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. Clearly communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
