The Senior Compliance Manager – Cyprus is responsible for assisting in the supervision of the Compliance function. Responsible for assisting all monitoring & surveillance, market conduct, rule mapping, investment suitability, regulatory change and policy setting. The role exercises strategic oversight over all the activities of the Cyprus functions, both current and planned. This role should help facilitate a holistic approach to the control framework across all three lines of defence with all relevant stakeholders identified and engaged on a continual and ongoing basis. This is a very diverse role, it is a mix of Markets Compliance, Assurance Compliance, AML Compliance, Central Compliance all under CySEC regulation.

Your EDGE Assignment/You Will

Assisting in Cyprus Compliance sponsored projects and work plans are appropriately prioritized and implemented

  • Act as the appointed Compliance and AML Officer positions with CySEC
  • Manage regulatory compliance for the CySEC licence
  • Assist global Compliance team with the compliance management framework and aligning internal policies and procedures, processes, controls and reporting with regulatory requirements
  • Provide specialist advice to senior management regarding regulatory matters including significant day-to-day decisions
  • Ensure the business activities comply with license conditions, statutory and regulatory obligations including AML obligations
  • Manage and champion continuous improvement across the compliance management framework and promote a compliance culture through training and education of the workforce
  • Provide a supporting role in development of a group-wide compliance management framework, policies, procedures, controls and reporting
  • Provide reporting to the Board of Directors and RAC (and Sub-Committee) as required on Compliance monitoring, issues arising and regulatory risk management
  • Provide breach and incident management and complaints handling, supporting other teams and including overseeing regulatory reporting and correspondence
  • Preparation of CySEC and other regulatory documentation
  • Review of all marketing and promotional material and disclosure documents
  • Leadership Responsibilities
  • Ensuring the independence of the Compliance function
  • Establish and develop the right environment for staff within the Cyprus Compliance function to develop their skills and capabilities, particularly so that they are up to date with developments in compliance laws, rules and standards
  • Assist in conducting regular reviews of the effectiveness and efficiency of the Compliance functions making recommendations for improvements
  • Compliance Management
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures and a robust framework for Cyprus
  • Assist in ensuring that the Compliance team is regularly and appropriately informed about material developments
  • Assist in keeping the business informed about key developments in laws and regulations and key initiatives and projects within Cyprus

Are you the one?

  • 3–5 years of compliance/AML experience within financial services, with direct exposure to CySEC regulations.
  • CySEC Advanced Certificate is required and CySEC AML Certificate will be considered as a great advantage.
  • Prior experience acting as (or supporting) a Compliance/AML Officer under CySEC is mandatory.
  • Good knowledge of CySEC requirements, EU directives, and AML legislation.
  • Experience in regulatory reporting, monitoring programs, and reviewing marketing/promotional materials.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to liaise with regulators, auditors, and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, while collaborating effectively with senior stakeholders.
