Do you want to be a leader within an international, growing Compliance function, working for one of Europe’s largest FinTech/disruptor-banks, that wants to revolutionize the financial industry? Klarna is looking for a leader to manage a team of engaged Compliance Specialists.
We are looking for someone to lead our Group Compliance team in Stockholm, Sweden, reporting to the VP Compliance for the Klarna Group.
Solid experience from a leadership/managerial role is a requirement.
General working experience (5+ years) with compliance in the financial services sector.
Compliance with banking, payment services, consumer credit, financing and lending
Swedish and EU financial laws and regulations
Legal background is beneficial, but not a must.
Most importantly – you should be passionate about leadership and compliance as a way to support business operations.
Further, you need to have excellent English language skills; Swedish language skills are a bonus.
You possess the ability to engage with senior stakeholders, to prioritize and problem solve in a progressing environment, and to lead your team to deliver with high quality within the compliance focus area.
You have integrity, ambition, a proactive and action oriented mindset.
You are an excellent communicator.
Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include
Lead the Group Compliance Team to deliver on key responsibilities, such as:
Deliver, coordinate and quality assure reporting at group level to Klarna’s Management and Board;
Perform and coordinate risk based compliance control reviews;
Provide compliance related training and share knowledge;
Draft, co-ordinate or quality assure notifications and filings to the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority;
Regulatory intelligence (“horizon scanning”) - monitor and identify new or updated rules and regulations or other regulatory developments applicable to Klarna’s business, assess the impact to Klarna and communicate and follow up on implementation;
Participate and represent Compliance in New Product Approval assessments and committee;
Support Klarna with input on various compliance related matters like conflicts of interest, suitability assessments etc;
Oversee Klarna’s governance structure and governing documents;
Support Klarna’s business operations on various compliance related matters.

Lead the team towards successful delivery with Compliance’s focus area, while working hands-on.
Drive coordination and alignment within the team as well as within other teams
Plan and prioritize work and remove blockers
Ensure Klarna’s team practices are followed

Guide, challenge and be the go-to person for competence related matters
Provide feedback and coaching for performance development
Conduct performance reviews and enablement
